My vintage camera bag…

bag-comments
Ok, ok… I get it! You want to know about the camera bag. ;) It’s actually something I put together myself! Found it in a vintage store in Nashville… then re-vamped it to become my own unique camera bag! I’ve been telling my mom that I want to go into business with her to create more one-of-a-kind pieces to offer to photographers (she and I just LOVE searching through vintage stores to find treasures). My questions for you: 1) Would you buy one? 2) How much would you be willing to pay? (a: $99-$125… b: $125-$150… c: other?) 3) What lenses would you want to be able to fit in here? (there’s usually only room for 2 lenses in these bags… OR would you rather have inter-changeable lens inserts so that you can choose which ones you want to bring on each shoot?) If this is something that photogs would be interested in, we will totally start creating some one-of-a-kind vintage up-cycled camera bags for you! Just lemme know… :)

July 13, 2009 - 10:22 am Magdalena - You are definitely a smart business woman! I was talking to my husband about YOUR red camera bag this weekend and what a great business this would be for targeting women photographers! For the past couple of weeks I have been looking everywhere for a square bag with a long strap to create a camera bag out of and I can’t find anything… so here are my answers 1) yes! absolutely! 2) Most likely in the higher range. 3) Camera body, 50mm, 70-200mm or 28-70mm (but that depends what fits… I would accommodate the bag for the equipment.). the interchangeable sounds great too… Now if I can find another one like that as a diaper bag too :)

July 13, 2009 - 5:55 pm Rachel - Yep I would buy one for sure. I loved it the minute I seen it! I would pay higher range as well for it. To hold, camera body, 3 lens, place for cards, phone, extra batteries etc - maybe some sort of versatile inside that could be changed? Keep me in the loooooop on this!!!

July 13, 2009 - 8:08 pm Lacey - I love the bag. I think it would be a great idea. My hubs had a bag made for me buy a lady on Etsy.com and I love it but there are some things that I would change and you can tell the creator isn't a photographer. If I quit using it, my mom wants the bag so I'm always up for a new one. I would probably like a 2-3 lenses in the bag. I think it's a great idea. Keep us posted!

July 14, 2009 - 3:31 pm Cheryl - I love the bag and yes would totally buy one. Only because I have a lot of demands on my wallet at the moment I would have to go with the lower end price. I love the idea of interchangeable. I always take a water bottle with me on shoots so I always need a pocket somewhere in the bag for that...also keys and phone. Love it, great idea!! :) Let us know when you are starting this fun project! :)

July 15, 2009 - 6:36 am courtney d. - Hey girlie!! I would DEFINITELY buy one!! I love that red bag!! It's super cute!! I'd be willing to pay the higher price and the lenses I use mostly for my shoots are the 50mm and 70-200mm. I really hope you're able to make some cause I would love to own one. Also, where do you buy all of your wallpaper from?? You always have the cutest wallpaper. I really want to buy some black and white stripe kind. There are NO good wallpaper stores here in Louisiana and I'll be in SO CAL the first week of August and would love to go wherever it is that you go!!! So I can buy some while I'm there. I REEEEEEAAALLLY appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks so much Kimee! And I hope to run into you while I'm there!!! You're the best! xoxo, Courtney

July 15, 2009 - 8:53 am Mel - I would pay higher end for the bag, would you also be willing to ship internationally? Like Rachel, I would love it to hold camera body, 2 lenses, cards, phone, extra batteries, wallet.

July 16, 2009 - 1:25 pm caroline - Usually I want a bag to hold my camera with small lens (say, 18-55) little bit longer lens (mine's a 70-200) and maybe a nice prime. Plus small essentials like phone, wallet, keys, etc. Generally, I'm really depressed by how far camera bags are out of my budget. I've wanted to get a shootsac, but $180? Can't do it.
